On September 4th, we blew out our birthday candles and made our wishes. We're not superstitious so we’ll tell you of those. One was for the end of cruelty, abuse, neglect and exploitation of animals. Two was to curtail the over-population crisis and resulting tragedies of animals by advocating education and awareness of spay/neuter programs. And three was for the guidance, wisdom, ways and means to see the Humane Society of Wickenburg animal shelter built. Wishes don't come true by themselves so we're working hard toward that goal every day. Even so, we can't do it alone.

The human-animal connection has been a part of the fabric of society since the dawn of mankind. As humans, we not only have an intuitive respect for the strength in animals, but we also have an intuitive empathy for their vulnerability. We are calling citizens to an even-higher level of humane treatment of the animals who share our lives. Gifts from private donors can propell and produce significant positive protection of Wickenburg's animals. Progress has a price and advancing humanity is always a worthwhile investment. As a nonprofit organization, the HSW relies heavily upon the generosity of donors who support the organization's mission. A gift can make a significant and visible impact.

Every gift, large or small, is important and will be appreciated and put to good use. You can help us by sending a belated "birthday gift" or early holiday gift to the Humane Society.

These aren't really charitable contributions...often investments in prestige....It turns out that only an estimated 10% are directed at the poor."
